WHAT IS SIMPLE SKINCARE?

Eco Em's

What is Simple Skincare?I live by a simple skincare routine, in fact I like to make all aspects of my life fairly simple wherever possible. I don’t like to get bogged down with complexities and lots of things over complicating life. By keeping things simple but effective I have had positive results that have now become the foundations of the product range.

By definition simple means easily understood or done; presenting no difficulty.

There’s nothing worse than going to start a task and being presented with a huge set of instructions or multiple ways it can be completed. It’s the same with every task we take on as humans, we are creatures of habit, but we also like to keep things simple. Rather than create or be told we need a multitude of products to maintain healthy skin and a glowing complexion. I believe keeping things to a minimum but with a specially chosen blend of ingredients can create the same results, as well as seeing the same benefits.

TAKING THE TIME TO CARE FOR OURSELVES

And taking the time to care for ourselves, shouldn’t be seen as a luxury, even the most time poor among us can enjoy a simple skincare routine. Less than 10 minutes a day can improve your complexion, when chosen correctly. Look for products that contain natural ingredients and avoid the following:

  • Parabens – Parabens are a family of related chemicals that are commonly used as preservatives in cosmetic products.
  • Aluminium – Toxic metal that can have oestrogen-like effects in our systems, disrupting the healthy functioning of the endocrine system.
  • Phthalates – Chemicals used to increase flexibility and strength of plastics. Usually found in fragrance oils and can be listed under the term fragrance along with 1000’s of other chemicals.
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) – A detergent that can make products bubble or foam and is found in most beauty products that foam.

WHAT IS SIMPLE SKINCARE?

These are to name a few the list is extensive and I’m always learning of more day by day. The point being going from a 7-step skincare routine with multiple products filled with chemicals, acids and parabens won’t benefit our health in the long run. However, swapping to one or two specially chosen products will help with most skin complaints and boost the overall health of your skin.

My next blog will be going into more detail on how to create a simple skincare routine, every week the blog will be launched on a Tuesday with a different theme monthly.
